Malaysia most famous Food Amabassador will be the star at the London Book Fair in April.

MALAYSIA'S most popular food ambassador, Chef Wan has been invited to be the Star of the Cookbook Corner at the London Book Fair, from April 20 to 22, 2009.

Chef Wan, who was approached by the organiser, will cook up a feast for those who attend in a cooking demonstration that will last about 45 minutes. While on the job, Chef Wan will take the opportunity to exhibit his cookbooks.

"I am so happy to be given this chance again. The invitations have been extended to other cookbook professionals from all countries and media to attend the fair which is regarded as a prestigious affair," said the affable chef.

The London Book Fair and the Gourmand World Cook Book awards will also announce their 4 year partnership during the fair.

"The London Book Fair and the prestigious Gourmand World Cook Book Awards, masterminded by international expert and businessman Edouard Cointreau, have arranged a four year partnership for the Cook Book Corner to appear at The London Book Fair," said the globe-trotting master chef.

According to the 50-year-old most successful chef, London Book Fair promises to spice up the world’s leading spring publishing event in April 2009.

"Cookery demonstrations have proved immensely popular in past years with both exhibitors and visitors," said the popular talk-show host.

Books on display will include current and previous Gourmand Award winners and runners up will also be feature alongside the demonstration area (in association with Gourmand), where some of the world’s top chefs will give live demonstrations.

These demonstrations, said Chef Wan, will include new chefs from India and South Africa, and encompass food and culinary traditions to tie-in with the countries chosen for the Market Focus in 2009.

The 2009 Cook Book Corner will expand its repertoire to include a dedicated rights centre for food and wine books and a special Food and Drink New Title Showcase in conjunction with Combined Book Exhibit, who organise the main New Title Showcase at London Book Fair.
